Classroom Management
Students are expected to do their best and to cooperate with students and teachers. I strongly believe in positive reinforcement and encouragement. Our classroom behavior system is set up as follows:
Green = Great Day! Followed all the rules
Yellow = Warnings given, Followed rules after warnings.
Orange = In-class time out
Red = Parents notified, Out of class time out and reflection sheet (if necessary, office referral).
Colors may also be determined by the severity of the behavior.

At the end of each day, your child will mark their Daily Behavior Calendar (placed inside the front cover of their blue take-home folder) with the color that corresponds to their behavior for that particular day. For children who have received a yellow, orange, or red, their box will be colored in by me with a brief note regarding their actions. Please check and sign their behavior calendar daily and discuss the choices they made to receive that color, including green. Children should be aware of what is considered appropriate behavior and have positive reinforcement to encourage appropriate behavior.
